HOLMES, ROBERT (BOB) BENNETT - Robert B. Holmes died peacefully at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on November 11, 2014. Born in Devon NB he was the son of the late Herbert and Catherine Holmes. Robert is survived by his son Dale, Children Harrison, Elizabeth, stepdaughters Amanda and Katie as well as five grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one sister Irene Glenn of Vancouver. In Addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his loving wife Julie Holmes (Arseneau) 2006 and sister Doris Holmes 2000. Robert spent the early part of his working career as a painting contractor, painting some of Fredericton’s finest homes. He then joined the Federal Civil Service, working until his retirement as a Materials Manager for Environment Canada. In his retirement years Bob loved to travel with his loving wife Julie. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Bob always loved to socialize, and did so on his daily visits to Walmart in the Regent Mall and Tim Horton’s on the Exhibition grounds.
Although there will be no visitation a funeral service will be held at Bishops Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 2PM with Rev. H. Gil MacKenzie officiating, followed by a reception. Memorials may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
