DUPLESSIS, FRANCES MABEL - With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Fran Duplessis, wife of 34 years to David Duplessis, surrounded by her loving family at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 15, 2014. Born in Digby, Nova Scotia on June 29, 1940 she was a daughter of the late J. Norris and Grace (Isles) McGowan. Fran was an active and cherished member of Full Gospel Assembly. She participated in bible studies at the church, and served as a greeter and usher for church events, always giving a warm smile and hug to everyone who came through the door. She and David enjoyed attending Spice of Life meetings together. In addition to her husband, David, Fran will be missed by her children: Stephen (Karen), Craig (Dawn), Lisa (Salvatore) and Charlene (Patrick); step-children: Stephen (Brenda), John (Anita), Patricia and Susan; grandchildren: Jessica, PJ, Timmy, Marissa, Amber, Aaron, Samantha, Amy, Mariah, Amanda, Travis, CJ, Alicia and Allie; several great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Rodney, and several brothers and sisters. The family would like to extend their sincerest thank-you to the Doctors and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care of Fran.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Family and friends are invited to attend visitation, which will take place at Full Gospel Assembly, 34 Mount Pleasant Avenue, East Saint John on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 1 to 9 pm. A celebration of Fran’s life will take place at Full Gospel Assembly on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 11 am. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
