Passed peacefully away on Saturday, November 15th, in the presence of his loving family, Gerald Hicks, age 90 years. Predeceased by Hazel, his loving wife of 59 years. Leaving to mourn, his sons Neil (Ruth) and Fraser (Susan), grandchildren, Andrew (Megan), Alison (friend Andrew), Jeremy (friend Melissa) and Gregory (friend Amanda), his precious great-grandson Oliver, sisters, Jean Whiteway (Harry - deceased) and Effie Osmond (Frank), sister-in-law Nita Abbott (Jim -deceased), as well as other relatives and friends. Special thank you to Dr. Noel Browne, Kayla Hall (caregiver) and Community Health Nurse, Jennifer Carroll, as well as staff at the Palliative Care Unit. Your exceptional care will never be forgotten. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, St. John's, with visitation on Sunday, November 16th from 4 - 9 p.m. and Monday, November 17th from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the Salvation Army Citadel, Adams Avenue on Tuesday, November 18th, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road.
