William Guy "Willie" Lattie

Lattie, William Guy “Willie”, passed away peacefully at the age of 52 on November 14, 2014 in East Cumberland Lodge after a year of declining health. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Lillian Beatrice Cochrane and Aubrey Cochrane (Deborah Duggan). Despite being born with some obstacles Willie lived life in his own way and derived happiness from life’s little pleasures that most people take for granted. He spent many years working with Bruce Marr Sanitation and loved discovering and taking home other people’s discarded treasures. He had a collection of outdated and obsolete electronics that was second to none! He had many interests in life including a love for animals instilled in him from his grandfather. He took care of cattle and barn animals in his younger years and looked after many a stray cat over the years. He had a love of comic books, listening to music, and recording TV to watch on his VCR and watching his vast collection of horror and superhero movies. Willie is survived by his sisters, Marilyn (Dave), Janet (Eddie); brother, Vernon (Sonya); niece, Ashley; nephew, Evan; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his mother he was predeceased by his grandparents, William “Bill” and Edna Cochrane and Pearl Kenny. Arrangements entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Cremation has taken place. By request there will be a family graveside service, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Valley Crossroads Cemetery. Rev. Jay Ettinger officiating. Donations in Willie’s memory may be made to the Colchester SPCA to continue on his love and caring for animals. The family would like to thank Dr. Dianna Locke, the dietary staff of Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro and the staff of East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash for their compassionate care of Willie over the past year.
