Passed on: November 14th, 2014
Wanda Arlene (MacKenzie) Paruch was suddenly called home on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014.
Born in Sydney on Jan. 8, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Shirley (Murphy) MacKenzie; wife of Raymond; mother of Nadine (Brenda) and Glenn (Melissa); nanny to Kaelam, Peyton and Isabelle; and sister to Richard.
For 32 years, she worked at the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), retiring in 2005. First and foremost in Wanda's life was her family. She was especially fond of the time she and Raymond spent together at their summer home at Big Beach and attending, with pride and enthusiasm, the hockey games, taekwondo matches and dance recitals of her grandchildren.
A caring and generous person, with a wonderful laugh and love for life, Wanda's heart and home were welcoming to all. She will be deeply missed.
Besides her parents, Wanda was predeceased by her sister, Marilyn Cuff in 2012.
Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place at St. Theresa’s Church on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m., with Rev. James Oliver officiating.
