ROBERTS, DOROTHY ANN - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Dorothy Ann (Long) Roberts of Saint John and Berwick, NB, which occurred on November 15, 2014 after a lengthy illness at the Saint Joh Regional Hospital. Dorothy was born in Hampton, NB in 1938 to the late Elbert and Marjorie (Smith) Long. She was well known as a talented seamstress, being able to design, repair and sew anything. Dorothy also worked for A C Nielsen and had retired after many years of service. She is survived by sons Harold Jr. and Eldon “Oupie” (Karen); daughters Gail (Donnie) and Bonnie (the late Stephen Beyea); grandchildren Andrew Roberts and Kasey Roberts (Mike), Jennifer Meekins, Aaron and Raymond Buldoc; step-granddaughter Angela Rahn (Nathan) and her son Oliver; sisters Susan (Russ) Woodley; Judy (Edward) Russell, Lynn Cripps and Margo (Steve) Long-Poitras; brothers Elbert (Evelyn), Murray (Barb), John (Norine), Ronnie, Stephen “Flat” (Evette) and Gerry (Valerie) Long; Aunt Audrey (the late Ron Long); sisters-in-law Mary MacDonald and Mildred Rigby; brother-in-law Eldon Roberts and best friend Lois Budrow. Dorothy was predeceased by her infant daughter Lynn Lorraine; sisters Sylvia Chow, Betty, Mary and Elizabeth Long, twin brothers Robert and Frederick and brother George Long and her former husband Harold Roberts.
Arrangements under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visiting Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 3 pm with Vince Galbraith DLM officiating followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Spring in Kiersteadville Cemetery. Donations in Dorothy’s memory can be made to the Kiersteadville Cemetery Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
