Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, November 17, 2014 of Elizabeth "Betty" Murnaghan, of Glenfinnan, age 86 years.
Beloved wife of 62 years to John Murnaghan; loving mother to Mary Murnaghan, Susan (Edwin) Corrigan, Raymond Murnaghan, Marion (George) Dunn, Brenda (Terry) Beaton and Rose (Robbie) Gaudet. Loving Nana to Shawna (Neven) Cameron and Michelle Corrigan (Matt); David and Katie Dunn; Tyler, Pamela and Stephanie Beaton; Melissa (Ben) Visser, Kimberly and Stephen Gaudet; and great-grandmother to Lochain, Sophia Grace and Caleigh Cameron; Molly, Brennan, Mason and Bennett Visser; and step great-grandmother to Autumn Chandler. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Lucy, Viola and Elaine Murnaghan.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, David and Teresa (nee Kelly) and parents-in-law, Michael F. and Johanna (nee Brazel); brothers, Jimmy (Maimie), Joe (Marion), and sister, Grace (Cecil) Kelly; brothers-in-law, Andrew (Mary), Rudolph, Stephen (Evelyn), Dennis and Joe Murnaghan.
Resting at the Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation Thursday, November 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. CWL will be having prayers at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Funeral mass to be celebrated Friday, November 21, at St. Patrick's Church, Fort Augustus at 10:30 a.m., interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations made to either St. Patrick's Cemetery Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
