REDMOND, SARA ANN - It is with deep sadness, that the family of Sara Ann Redmond announces her passing on Monday, November 17th 2014. She died peacefully in her home at Windsor Court in Fredericton, NB. Born in Fredericton in 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred (Riordan) Swift. Sara was a wonderful mother, wife and friend and she will be dearly missed by her son Michael, daughters Shawn and Cait, son-in-law Steve Myrden, several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents, Sara was predeceased by her loving husband Ralph Alexander Redmond; brothers Irvine, John, Joseph, Clarence and Raymond and sisters Jean and Helen. Sara was a long-time member of the Catholic Women’s League. Throughout the years she enjoyed going to antique auctions, playing golf, cross-country skiing and playing bridge. She had a strong and beautiful spirit, a witty sense of humour and a great love for her family. After suffering from a spinal cord injury in 2010, she displayed incredible courage, resilience and determination in her recovery and subsequently spent four happy years at Windsor Court, where she partook in many activities and events.
In keeping with Sara’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 25th at 12:05 PM with Fr. Bill Brennan as celebrant. A private interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery immediately following the mass. An informal reception to celebrate her life will be held in the Penthouse Suite at Windsor Court at 2 PM that day. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sara’s memory may be made to the Stan Cassidy Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com.
