Edward Grant

GRANT, EDWARD BANNERMAN - It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Edward Grant of Saint John, who passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on November 20, 2014. Born in October of 1919 in Inverness Scotland to the late William and Christina (Bannerman) Grant. Edward worked as a Boom Truck Driver and Stationary Engineer for Coleson Cove Generating Station and NB Power, Courtney Bay with 38 years of service, retiring in 1982. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Ed was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time at Camp Bull Moose and playing the accordion.
Eddie is survived by his sons Terry (Jean) of Hamilton, ON, Paul (Edith) of Cochrane, ON, Kevin (Phyllis) of Kingston Peninsula and Dean (Brenda) of Saint John; daughter Joanie Hicks (Clinton) of Kingston Peninsula; one brother Christopher (Gertrude) of Saint John; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and canine companion Sophie and feline companion Buddy and Lucky. Besides his parents, Eddie was predeceased by his loving wife Mabel Mary (Hebert) Grant in 2012; baby in infancy Heather; sisters Christina Hayward, Joyce Gardner, Gladys McCormick and Ethel Cunningham; brothers Jack, Alfred and Allister.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Sunday November 23rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday November 24th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday November 25, 2014 at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 12 noon followed by a reception. Interment to follow at Clifton Royal Cemetery, Kingston Peninsula. Donations in Ed’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Saint John Animal Rescue League.
