It is with great sadness the family of Ruth Emma Gouchie age 76 of Amherst, announce her passing on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Springhill, NS, she was the daughter of late Raymond “Fish” and Margaret (Bourgeois) O’Hearon.
Ruth was known to many as Nan, she was involved with Spinal bifida and worked for many years at the Lido Restaurant and later years at the Loon Onn Restaurant. Her favorite pastimes was playing Auction 45 with her family and dancing. Her passion in life was her grandkids and any other kid that needed a shoulder and that is why they called her Nan.
She will be missed by her husband Jim “Dink” of 57 years, sons Aaron and Wade (Naomi), daughters Jocelyn (Bobbie Patton) and Paula, grandkids Jolene, Justine, Raelynn, Jill, Jarrett and Autumn; Great grandkids Marissa, Johnathan, Jordan, Jennalyn, Aiden, Marylynn, Kristian, Aliyah, Catie, Brody, Mikayla, Bradley and Karissa; Sisters Hattie O’Brien of Amherst, Betty Crowe of Oromocto, NB, Marie “Babe” Somers of Springhill and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brother Raymond “Pudge” O’Hearon, sister Dorothy “Duke” Hayden and brother in-law Jack Crowe.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 at Campbell’s Funeral Home (98 Church St. 902-667-9906) from where the funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 2 pm with Rev. Bonnie Langille officiating.
