Arthur Hunter

It is with sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing of Arthur "Art" Hunter, age 76 of Springhill. Arthur passed away at All Saints Hospital, Springhill on Saturday, November 22, 2014.
Born December 5, 1937 in Springhill, he was a son of the late Arthur Warren & Margaret (Murphy) Hunter.
Growing up in Springhill as a young boy, he was an avid baseball player. In later years a great bowler which he was very proud of and he won many trophies. In later years he was in Automotive Business working for Sheppards Automotive. He then moved to Moncton where he worked for Summer Tire as a parts purchaser for 35 years. He finished his career at Oxford Frozen Foods. Art made many friends during his working career. Art loved to dance and have fun.Art is survived by his loving companion Janice Leggett and her daughters Barbie and Janice Lee and their dog, Honey, his faithful companion that he loved very much; Art is also survived by his son Gerald (Elma) Hunter of Oxford; daughter Lorna Jean (Michael) Weaver of Albert Mines,NB; two grandchildren, Brandy Weaver-Johnston (Brian) and Jason Weaver (Lisa); great grandchildren, Sammy , Dustin, Dream & Chelsea Weaver; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by two brothers, Danny (Jesse) and Larry (Lorna). Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jean, brothers, Clayton Murphy, Kenneth Hunter; sister, Kay Hunter.
Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday, from 1 to 3 pm. The funeral service will follow immediately at 3 pm on November 26, 2014 at 3 pm. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemtery, Springhill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
