Gilmore Noble

NOBLE, GILMORE TAYLOR - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gilmore Taylor Noble on November 23, 2014 at White Rapids Manor, Fredericton Junction, NB. He was born at the farm in Rusagonis to John Gilmore Noble and Mildred Taylor Noble on February 10, 1925 and lived there his entire life. From a young age, Gilmore was an active member of his much loved community. His father owned the local general store, a blacksmith shop and the farm. In 1946, Gilmore married the love of his life, Myrna Ethel Boyle and together they raised five children. In the summer of 1961, Gilmore built a new store, the Lucky Dollar. It became a community hub selling anything a family would need and giving the residents a place to exchange greetings. Just up the road was the other major centre of the community, the local Baptist Church. Gilmore and his family spent many hours in worship and song there. Gilmore was a quiet, gentle man who loved his family dearly. He was an amazing man of God and had an incredible influence on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a huge impact on his community and was a faithful member of the Rusagonis Baptist Church where he was involved in all aspects of church ministry. He had a flair for storey telling and had a remarkable memory. He loved to play the violin and was fortunate to play with two different gospel groups. He was a member of the Orange Lodge and founding member of the NB Gospel Music Festival. Survived by children, Doreen Evans (John) of Fredericton, Dianne Olive (David) of Fredericton Junction, Lorraine Ebbett (Roger) of Rusagonis, Bonnie Jones (Sam) of Oromocto; daughter-in-law Debbie Noble of Florenceville; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister Edna Boyle and sisters-in-law Lois McIsaac, Norma Banks, Beatrice Boyle, Maudie Boyle, Marina (Howard) McLaughlin, and Miriam Glenn and many favourite nieces and nephews.
