Donald "Don" Scott

SCOTT, DONALD “DON” GEORGE - It is with great sadness that the family of Donald George Scott "Don", beloved husband of Dorothy Louise, announce his passing on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in 1934 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Donald Arthur Scott and Dorothy Monica Scott (nee Lifford). Don lived his entire life in Saint John and the surrounding area. Before retiring in 1997, he was Quispamsis Town Administrator for 22 years. His career also included time working for Saint Joseph's Hospital and the Telegraph Journal. Don was very special. A gracious gentleman, whose kind and compassionate spirit had a positive impact on many people. His lighthearted nature, wonderful sense of humour, positive outlook, warm smile, and infectious laugh, will forever be missed by those who knew him, loved him and were blessed to have him in their lives. He was a loving and caring husband, brother, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife of 56 years Louise, Don will forever be missed by his two children: Donald Bruce Scott (Debbie) of Saint John and Linda Louise Khoury (Charles) of Ottawa; grandchild: Jordan of Saint John; a sister, Shirley Scott of Saint John; a brother Keith Scott of Fredericton; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit who cared for Don for many months with such kindness and compassion. He adored you all. Your outstanding kindness will never be forgotten.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 12 noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
