BOURQUE, Therese Anne – 101, Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born October 17, 1913 on Wilson Island, NS, she was a daughter of the late Ambroise and Rose (Muise) Cottreau. Therese was a founding member and first President of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch No. 155, Wedgeport. In her later years, she looked forward to Friday night cribbage and the Wedgeport Seniors Club. She is survived by her daughter, Cecile (Milton) Pothier, Wedgeport, as well as by Brian Myer, whom she raised from a young age, and who thought of Therese as a mother. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jeffery, Heather and Scott, as well as a great granddaughter, Monique; a sister, Elise Christie, Truro; a brother, Martin (Rosabelle) Cottreau, Wedgeport, and a sister-in-law, Beatrice Cottreau, Yarmouth. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Stanis Bourque, as well as by sisters, Yvonne (in infancy), Rita Cottreau, Gertrude Pratt, Emily Mingo, Louise Surette, Alice Burke; brothers, Cornelius, Eugene and Stanley Cottreau. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Wedgeport. The funeral mass was held at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, on Monday, November 10, at 11:00 a.m., Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment took place in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Michael’s Parish Cemetery Fund or to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund.
