BEERS, WALTER - (1932-2014) - BASS RIVER, NB – It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and gramp, after a brief illness, he peacefully passed away on November 26, 2014 with his family at his side at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste.Anne-de-Kent. Born in Brown’s Yard, NB, he was the son of the late Alexander and Euphemia Beers. Walter served overseas in the Royal Canadian Army during the Korean War. Before retiring, he was employed with the Kouchibouguac National Park and then worked as the grounds keeper for the St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery in Browns Yard, which he took great pride in for the last 13 years. Walter will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Karen (Henderson) Beers of Bass River; three daughters, Angie DeAdder (Mike) of Debert, NS, Lisa Betts (Tony) of Bass River, Debbie Chapman (Danny) of Moncton; one son, Carmen Beers (Ainslie) of Moncton; eight grandchildren; one brother, Ross Beers (Evelyn) of Ontario and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by four sisters, Mona, Margarie, Phyllis, Debbie and three brothers, Carmen, Lyle and Lawson.
Visitation will be on Monday, one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Brown’s Yard. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 1st, 2014 at 2:00 pm, St. Paul's Anglican Church, Browns Yard. Donations in Walter’s memory may be made to St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery Fund and would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to graciously thanks Dr. Michelle LeBlanc and the nursing staff at the Stella Maris Hospital especially Isabelle Robichaud. Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
