SMITH, CRAIG ALLISON - (1944 – 2014) Mr. Craig Allison Smith of North Head Grand Manan Island passed away Tuesday November 25, 2014 at the Grand Manan Hospital. He was born the son of the late Bertram and Phyllis (Huckins) Smith. Craig worked in the fishing industry and will be remembered most for the years he worked as a crew member aboard of a herring seiner and in the fishing weirs. He is survived by his daughter Carla (Medhat Oweida) Smith of Mississauga, ON. His son Robert (Marianne) Smith of Castalia. Two step-daughters Eloise Pierce, and Margaret (David Green) Field, both of North Head. Also, one step son Dennis Fields, of North Head. Ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Doris, his uncle Preston Smith and wife Laura, aunt Helen Green and husband Wallace, his Aunt Ena Wilson(second mum) and husband Rex, and one step grandson Randy Fields.
Visiting will take place at the North Head Wesleyan Church on Monday from 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday December 2, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ruth Fair-Parker officiating. The interment will follow at the North Head Community Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Grand Manan Hospital Foundation.
