Taylor, Sonja Florence (Helin) - Our precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to heaven to take her place with the angels, passing away suddenly on November 27, 2014 at her home in Lochaber.
Born in Country Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Lillian(Cook)Helin Gillis.
She lived her life for her four daughters having been our best friend. She had all four girls within 5 years, having been so proud to be our mom.
Her grandchildren were her legacy, and she was fortunate to also have a great-granddaughter.
To her sister Blanch, we are so grateful for the time spent with mom. You made her laugh so much. To Carol Helin, her sister-in-law, who walked up so many evenings to watch TV, thank you.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra(Andy), Elizabeth(Scott), Susan and Mary(Peter), granddaughters Chelsie(Geremy), Chelby(Dave), Cassie(Lauren), Briea, Samantha and her only grandson Braden, great-granddaughter Faith Alexa Sonja Taylor, chosen great-granddaughter Ariella, sons-in-law Peter MacKenzie, Brian Malloy and Andrew Sponagle, and special friend Sheila Campbell, sister and best friend Blanch Pace, sister-in-law Carol Helin, sisters Florence Cameron, Gladys Reeves, Rosena Connors and Carla Johnson, brothers Edison, Mike and Gunner.
She was predeceased by her husband Alex D. Taylor, brothers Gabe, Roy, Ronnie and Raymond, sister Aileen, son-in-law Peter George.
Cremation to take place.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Nazarene, Trenton from where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Jerry Stearns and Rev. Leon Teal presiding. Fellowship to follow in the church hall. Burial of ashes at a later date.
