It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of David Lionel Petrie, 60, of St. Peter's, formerly of New Waterford, on Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at home.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of Joseph Petrie and the late Agnes (Hutchison) Petrie.
David was a member of the former St. Agnes parish, New Waterford. A graduate of BEC, he enjoyed photography and computer technology. David resided in St. Peter's for the last four years. Prior to this, he worked at a truck assembly plant in Calgary, retiring in 2010. He was considered a handy-man who knew his way around large trucks and heavy haulers. David was very fond of his two dogs, Bonnie and Clyde.
Surviving are his father, Joseph, New Waterford; son, Ian, Sydney and his mother, Chris; brothers, Joseph, Ottawa, Francis, New Waterford.
David was predeceased by his mother, Agnes and brother, Ronnie.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A graveside service will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, New Waterford, at a later date.
