Robert passed away on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late John Herbert and Rita Mae (Francis) Dean.
Robert was retired from doing maintenance work. He was a member of Bethel Family Church, Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Robert was a very kind man and also an avid wrestling fan.
He is survived by two sisters, Edna Martin, Anita Penny; 11 brothers, Herbert (Lucy), Allen (Kenny), Gordon (Christina), Lewis (Patsy), Lloyd (Barb), George (Mona), Carly (Debbie), Percy (Christine), Roy (Jocelyn), Leonard (Elaine) and Mohan; several nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Mary Dean.
Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by two brothers, Jim and John.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral service officiated by Pastor Ron Coole is Thursday morning at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
