Passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, Vera Blanche Pike at the age of 78. Left to mourn her daughter Donna Layden (Hayward); son Ross Pike: grandchildren: Christopher (Ashley), Rebecca (Robbie) and Karen (John); great - grandchildren: Ashlea, Brendan, Chaz, Rachael, Amy, Elizabeth and Ariel; brothers and sisters: Allen Poole (Shirley), Norman Poole (Agatha), Kelvin Poole, Sarah Whalen (Jack) and Loretta Skinner (Gerard); sisters and brother-in-law: Rita Eliassen, Yvonne McDonald, Evangeline Miles, Marion Biasutti, Richard Pike (Barb) and Winnie Pike; as well she will be missed by many other family members and close friends including her furry little friend Rosie. Vera was predeceased by her husband Bernard Pike, June 5, 2014, parents Henry & Laura Poole, granddaughter Usha-Lyn, sister Abigal. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Restorative Care Unit, Long Term Care Facility, the Emergency Dept, ICU and Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital. We will be gathering for visitation at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, Thursday and Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6 at 11:00 am from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, Curling Street with Rev. Rosemarie Payne officiating, followed by the interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
