Kenrick (Mersereau) Helen – 89, of Townsview Estates passed away December 5, 2014 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Helen was born in Traceyville, NB and grew up in Blissville, NB. She was a daughter of Byron and Winnifred (Bunker) Mersereau. She married Richard Kenrick in 1948 and was a resident of Middle Stewiacke for 44 years before moving to Brookfield. She was a member of the Brookfield Baptist Church, All Around the Circle Seniors, I.O.D.E., and Veterans Widow and Widowers Association. Helen was a Veteran of the Women’s Division of the RCAF and served in several areas of Canada during World War II. After the early seventies, Helen spent many happy summers at the family cottage at Malagash Point. Helen is survived by her sons, Brian (Jane), Middle Stewiacke; Paul (Jackie), Debert; daughter, Ruth Woo, Orwigsburg, PA; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Dean); Beckie (Mike); Natalie (Craig); Ivan (Angie); Ben (Laurena); Amy (Anthony); Joseph; step-grandchildren, Nancy (Jason); Bobby (Rachael); 3 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard; sister, Lillian Degner; brother, Dana. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday, December 8, 2014 at Brookfield Baptist Church, Pastor Eric MacKinnon officiating, with a reception to follow. Donations may be made to the Brookfield Baptist Church, Middle Stewiacke Cemetery, Middle Stewiacke United Church or a charity of choice.
