It is with great sorrow that we the family announce the passing of Melvin on Dec. 6, 2014. Born in Sydney on Dec. 30, 1926, Melvin was the son of the late Ewen and Lydia Morrison.
Melvin is survived by his children, Lillian (Norman) MacLean, Sharon (Don) Gosse, Sandra (Fred) Plumridge, Robert and Rodney (Kara) Morrison. He is also survived by his sister Margaret (the late George) Tiller; sister and brother-in-law Eileen and Phil Dwyer; sister-in-law, Claire Morrison and son-in-law Kevin Carew; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. Also longtime neighbour and friend Theresa (the late Bill) Hawco. He is also remembered by many nieces and nephews, especially Bill Morrison and May (Dick) MacLean, who grew up in the family home.
Melvin was predeceased by his wife Gladys (O’Flaherty), daughters, Arlene Carew, Debi MacKinnon, son-in-law Francis MacKinnon, also sisters Evelyn Fewer and Emily Morrison, brothers Ewen, Roy and Edward.
Cremation has taken place, a private family graveside committal will be held in May 2015 at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
In Melvin’s memory, the family ask that a gesture of kindness be done.
