It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father and grandfather, Lloyd Warren at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Dec. 5, 2014. with his family by his side.
Lloyd was born April 14, 1932, to the late Alphaeus and Rebecca (Russell) Warren and resided on MacLeod Street in Whitney Pier for many years.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn (Smith) Warren and his two daughters, Kimberly (Vincent) Young and Wendy (Fred) Furlong, as well as five grandchildren, Bradley and Christopher (Jennifer) Young, Michelle, Katherine (Mike Smith) and Jimmy Furlong. He is also survived by two brothers, Bill (Martha) and Bob (Sheila); sister-in-law, Kathleen Warren and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents , Lloyd was predeceased by his sister Katharine (Edmund) MacNeil and a brother Chesley Warren.
Lloyd was employed at the Cape Breton Post for over 30 years as a photo-engraver and later as a photographer, retiring in 1991. Lloyd and Evelyn enjoyed travelling and spent many summers camping at Seal Island and St. Peter’s. He played an active role in all of his grandchildren’s activities , interests, and educational pursuits.
As per Lloyd’s request there will be no visitation or funeral.
