SHARPE, PAUL GORDON, P.Eng. - Avid traveller, Paul G. Sharpe, 75, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, December 7, 2014. Born in Moncton he was the son of the late Leigh and Katherine (Whalen) Sharpe. Paul was retired from Delcan with 41 years’ service, graduate of UNB (1962) Civil Engineering, member of UNB Alumnae and member of Professional Engineers of Ontario (Toronto). He was an active member of the Genealogy Society of Moncton, devoted Scout leader and was an Army Cadet. Paul will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Ruby (Oates) Sharpe; children, Karen Buckshi (Mano) and David Sharpe (Jackie), both of Ottawa, ON; grandchildren, Ashwyn and Mika Buckshi, Gabriella and Maryke Savoy, Sebastien, Nicholas and Kassandra Sharpe; brother, William “Bill” Sharpe (Daphne) of Riverview; nephew, Mark Stevens of Riverview; sister-in-law, Carol Sharpe of Riverview; nephew, Andrew Sharpe of Riverview; several extended family members. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brother, Reginald “Reg” Sharpe (November 2011). The Family would like to thank the staff of The Moncton Hospital (4th and 5th Floors) as well as the team at Pro-Tem for the care shown to Paul during his stay.
A service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Laurence Quin-Morris officiating. Refreshments to follow the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre.
