MADILL, STEVE SR. - It is with great sadness, that the family of Steve Madill Sr of Rothesay, announces his passing, which occurred on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Bobby’s Hospice, at the age of 68. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Walter and Lola (Herrington) Madill. Steve is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary; children, Cherie (Philip), Steven Jr, Dawn (Mark), Denise (Brad) and daughter-in-law Eloisa; grandchildren, Sheldon, Ryan, Mary May, Isabella, Callista and Makayla; sisters Edna Love (Robert), June Bastarache and brother Daryl (Loretta); several nieces and nephews, and many extended relatives. He was predeceased by his son Tim, grandson Tim Jr, sister Joyce Beyea and his parents. Steve owned and operated Madill's Heating. He took great pride in his camp in Musquash and tried to be there as much as possible, right up until the water froze and he had to take his boat out of the ice for winter storage. It was his second home and he loved to share it with family and friends. He loved the outdoors, whether sitting at a campfire, fishing, hunting, snow mobiling, walking the back forty with his dogs Megan and Laci, gardening, four wheeling or boating in Musquash. The family would like to express their gratitude to all of those who cared for and supported him throughout his difficult fight with cancer. Special thanks to the staff of palliative care at Bobby’s Hospice, Radiology & Oncology at SJ Regional, Extramural, Reverend Greg McMullin and neighbours both at home and in Musquash. Also, heartfelt thanks to all for the love and support extended to our family these past months.
Although there will be no visitation, family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held at St. Mary & St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 646 Westmorland Road, Saint John on Wednesday December 10 2014, at 2:00 PM.
