Little Harbour - Gary Alan MacKean, age 63, of Little Harbour, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his family at the Aberdeen Hospital on December 8, 2014. Gary was born April 25, 1951, to parents Henry Francis MacKean and Gloria Leatrice (Bonvie) MacKean, both deceased. He enjoyed his 40 year career at Scott Paper, retiring in 2009. Gary was very passionate about people and everything he did. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and telling his stories. Gary was a huge football fan and loved repairing his home and cars. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Ellsworth); his much loved daughter, Kristen (Ashantha) Ranasinghe, Winnipeg; stepdaughter, Lisa Rutledge, Westville; grandchildren: Dustan and Kory; sister and best friend, Marilyn MacKean, New Glasgow; and many cousins, friends, aunts and uncles. Visitation 7-9 pm Wednesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where a celebration of life will be held at 2 pm Thursday with Rev. Randy Stanton officiating.
