It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eugene Bazil Fraser, on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, at age 79.
Bazil was the son of the late Gerry and Mary (Burke) Fraser.

He is also survived by his brother, Edgar (Bernadette) Fraser. Best friends and fishing buddies, Charles 'Bucky' Buchanan and Vince Muise will miss his friendship. His three little dogs, Cricket, Pedro and Coco will miss papa's treats.
Besides his parents, Bazil was predeceased by his sister, Gloria, two sisters in childhood, and brothers, Robert, Nelson and Gerald.
Bazil was a present member of the Sydney Y's Men and was a past member of the United Commercial Travellers, Cape Breton Chordsmen and the Sydney Heartbeats. He was a faithful and hardworking member of First United Church, serving as an elder for many years and a dedicated member of Monday Night Men, as well as many other committees. Bazil will be remembered for his depiction of the disciple Andrew in the drama "The Last Supper". After 25 years of service, he retired from Ganong Brothers and remained in close contact with his associates there. Bazil was a good friend and neighbour to all and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His infectious laugh and good humor made him the center of attention at the many family gatherings at his home on Leonard Street, where everyone was welcome.
At Bazil's request, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at the United Heritage Church (corner of Charlotte and Townsend streets, Sydney) on Thursday 11 a.m. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Sydney Y's Men Christmas Cheer Fund.
