Slack, L. Jean - 92, Debert, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with her family at her side. Jean was born in East Mines; she was a daughter of the late Curno and Bertha (Roode) Reid. Jean loved to read and was always on top of current events. She loved company dropping by and liked to go for drives with Fran. Jean was a member of Debert Fire Brigade Ladies Auxiliary. Jean is survived by her son, Shane (Wanda), Debert ; grandsons Kyle (Dawn), Chris (Dalce),Brandon (Olivia), Lee (Jenn); great grandchildren Carrie and Erica; son in law, Harry McMurter, ON. She was predeceased by husband Joe; daughter Cheryl; grandson, Lennie; brothers Carl, Ulric and Ches. By Jean’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Spring interment in Folly Mountain Cemetery. Donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the Debert Fire Brigade.
