NICKERSON, Everett Burnley- age 95, of New Beginnings Nursing Home, passed away at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on December 9, 2014. Born October 1, 1919 in Port Clyde, Shelburne Co., N.S. he was a son of the late Everett Burton Nickerson and Adelaide (Kenney) Nickerson. Everett owned and operated Nickerson Hardware for 38 years in downtown Yarmouth. Everett and his wife Shirley were avid square and round dancers and taught many people how to dance. In his spare time he was an avid outdoorsman. Everett also served with the Royal Canadian Army Pay Corp and was a Fellow of the Canadian Bankers Association. He is survived by his son Gary Nickerson of Yarmouth. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Raynard); and brothers, Reginald and Herbert. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There was no visitation by family request. A private memorial service was held Friday, December 12, 2014, Rev. Don Moses officiated. Interment will be in the spring of 2015 in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
