PRICE, MARY F. - 1923 - 2014 - It is with extreme sadness that the family announces the passing of our much loved Mom, Mary Price (nee Murray) on December 10, 2014 at the age of 91 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Mom was born on October 30, 1923 in Saint John, NB, the daughter of the late Laura Main (Despres) and the late Frank Murray. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Loyal L. Price on January 13, 1999. Mom and Dad moved to Lower Coverdale in 1949 and lived there for almost 60 years. She began working at Eaton’s during WWII until her retirement and loved every minute of it. Mary was an active member of the Lower Coverdale United Church serving as a Steward, singing in the Choir, and was a lifetime member of the United Church Women. Mary also loved being a Pink Lady volunteer for many years at Spencer’s Memorial Home. She is survived by three daughters: Christine Price of Miramichi, Deborah (Jim) Price-Sinclair of Irishtown and Maureen (Wayne) Moore of Quispamsis and two sons: David (Linda) of Wheaton Settlement and Scott (Deborah) of Halifax. Mom/Nanny is also survived by her ten grandchildren and her five great-grandchildren: Natalie (Jeff) Price-Preston and great-grandson Quinn of Moncton, Jeremy Price and great granddaughter Cameryn of Moncton, Derrick Price of South Korea, Kate (Andrew) Sinclair –Sowerby and great granddaughter Vivian of Halifax, Nora Sinclair of Irishtown, Leslie (Luke)McAdam of Saint John, Stephanie Moore of Halifax, Tim (Daniela) Moore and great grandchildren Briana, Rene and Florencia of Coquitlam, BC, Ian Sinclair of Halifax and Emily Phillips-Price of Halifax. Mom is also survived by her brother – Herbert Day of Moncton, her former daughter in law Darlene Cain and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Saturday, December 13 at 1:00 pm followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary's memory may be made to, K.E. Spencer Memorial Home, Alzheimer’s Foundation, SPCA or the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements entrusted with Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530. The family wishes to thank the staff of Spencer’s Memorial Home for the wonderful care she was given while a resident there; particularly the superb staff on “A” wing – you are true angels.
