Passed in: Lingan
Passed on: December 10th, 2014

With broken hearts we regret to announce the passing of our precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Pearl McIsaac on Dec. 10, 2014, at home.
Born July 16, 1921, in Lingan, she was a daughter of the late Felix and Henrietta (Langley) Burke.
Pearl was a member of the former St. Joseph's parish, Lingan, currently the Parish Church of St. Leonard. She enjoyed baking and playing cards and was known to be an 'unbeatable' crib player.
Her baking won the affection of many people from various places but started with the neighborhood kids whom she would feed quite often. Nobody could cook or bake anything like 'Grandnan', as her grandchildren lovingly referred to her. Her specialties included chocolate chip cookies with white icing, peanut-butter cookies, potato fudge and of course, apple pies.
Her greatest passion, however, was her family, namely her late husband, Aloysius, whom she considered her 'best friend' and missed daily. Her family truly was her world. Pearl was a most graceful and gentle woman who also had a great sense of humour which she retained up until her last days. She was noted as saying, 'if the Lord calls, don't wake me.'
Although this remarkable woman has passed, we will carry on. Though this regrettable passing has left a vacant space in us all, we will still rejoice in the moments in which we see her in each other. The simplicities in which we all learned through her taught us that the richest moments are those spent with the ones you love. The finest of words couldn't match the sorrows we feel.
Surviving are children, Violet (Albert) Kaloc, Rita (Jim) MacDonald, Patsy (Brian) Brown, Darlene (Donnie) Brufatto, Debbie McIsaac, Alana (David Butler) McIsaac, Al McIsaac, Kenny (Trude Byrne) McIsaac; grandchildren, Darrell, Lauralie, David, Andrew, Cindy, Nicole, Sherri, Ashley, Brittany, Kolton, Lindsey, Alison; great-grandchildren, Josh, Lilly, Cameron, Peyton, Tristan, Soleil, Monroe, Lincoln; brother Stan Eksal; sister Hazel Musial; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Pearl was predeceased by sisters, Violet, Frances, Mabel, Yvonne, brothers, Stan, Raymond, Tony, and Pius, sons-in-law, Kerr MacRae and Lowell Britten.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Saturday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lingan, with a luncheon to follow at Lingan Hall.
Donations in Pearl's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
