BENOIT, VIOLA M. - Viola M. Benoit, 106, formerly of Moncton, passed away on Thursday December 11, 2014 at the Foyer Saint-Thomas, Memramcook. Born on October 7, 1908 in Lakeburn, she was the daughter of the late Josias and Mélanie (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. Prior to her retirement, she worked for 35 years at Highblind Distilleries in Hartford, CT. She was a member of Church Court Seniors Club and Our Lady of Assumption parish. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Viola was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, George N. Benoit; seven sisters and brothers: Éveline, Exelda, Saül, Émile, Irène, Alfred and Almida.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and Monday from 9:30 am until time of departure (10:10). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, 1542 Champlain Street, Dieppe (Lakeburn) on Monday December 15, 2014 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
