Effie Young formerly of Donkin, passed away on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014 at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay.
Born in Sand Lake, she was the daughter of the late Gussie and Janie MacPherson.
Effie is survived by her son, Francis; grandson, Michael; great-grandsons, Colin, Ian; sisters, Lea, Gertrude; brother, Matt and many nieces and nephews.
Effie was predeceased by her husband, Philip F. Young in 1982.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, Dec. 16 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., all in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Interment to follow in St. Luke’s Anglican Cemetery, Port Caledonia.
