Syl, a born again Christian, is now in Heaven. This is his reward for unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Parents are the late Lillian (Gallivan) and Henry MacIntosh of Whitney Pier/Marion Bridge.
First love and wife Della (MacDougall) died in 1999 after 40 happy years of marriage. Children are Joanna (Darren) Hanson and Stephen (Dawn) MacIntosh. Special grandsons are Garrett and Aidan Hanson and Jake and Luke MacIntosh. Syl's siblings and their spouses are twin, Myles (2006) and Betty, Mackie (2011) and Ada, John Henry and Betty, Willie and Kathy, Norma and Doug Woodill, Heather and George Townsend, Henrietta and Ralph Johnston.
Syl and Barb Gillen were married in 2001 by Pastor Wayne MacLeod of Sydney Mines. Extended family includes Amy, Jeff and Gavin Farris and Joanna, Marc, Ellie and Thomas Mahoney and never-to-be forgotten the staff and residents of Harbourstone Nursing Home.

Syl leaves a legacy of great faith. Each day began and ended with Bible readings and prayers. He also knew the power of God’s love. Knowing he was the recipient of many blessings, Syl continually gave thanks to his heavenly Father. In turn, Syl’s generosity was extended to family, friends, neighbors and many Christian and secular charities.
Syl’s favourite hymns were “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art.” His favourite Bible verse was Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness….
Cremation is the under the direction of the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home. No visitation or funeral service by request.
