It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Elizabeth “Betty” Laura MacRae. She suffered with chronic pain for many years. In spite of her pain, she still managed to bring smiles to those who loved her dearly. Affectionately known as Nan, she was always willing to put her troubles aside to listen to her family and friends. Nan’s comforting smile and sharp wit was the remedy for any troubled soul. Oh… how she loved to hear about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We cherish the adventures we shared with her and will embrace these memories forever. For those who had the pleasure to know this spirited woman; what a blessing you have had. Her enduring strength will continue to guide us through our path in life.
Nan, you’re going home. A Chapel Service will be held 3:00 PM Monday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Cremation will follow. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
