MacDONALD, James Andrew - 63, of High Street, Pictou, passed away December 13, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Hebert and Katheline (MacKenzie) MacDonald.
Andrew recently received a 38 Year Service Award from Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations and was co-owner of Crown Pizza in Pictou. He enjoyed his work, along with baking, reading, genealogy, music and animals.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Muriel; sons, Barry MacDonald (Monica Mohn), Matthew MacDonald (Colton Legacy), Dale MacDonald; brother, Herbert (Chezza) MacDonald; sister, Katherine (David) MacKenzie, brother-in-law, Douglas MacLeod and several nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Sarah Lynn and sister, Margaret MacLeod. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, from where service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday with Rev. Iona MacLean officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
