It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Elva Dixon, announce her passing on December 13, 2014, at Charlotte Residence in Charlottetown.
Born on March 1, 1942, Elva was a daughter of the late Dan and Alice Jewell.
She is survived by her children Gordon (Marnie) Dixon of Kingston, P.E.I., Wendy Carriere (Vince Grienti) of Ottawa, ON, Cathy (Paul) Burnell of Bedford, N.S., Debbie Dixon (Lawrence Boulter) of Bedford, P.E.I. and Robert (Renee) Dixon of Fort McMurray, AB. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Ashley Doucette, Olivia Dixon, Daniel Mosher and Blake Dixon and by extended family members Leone Dixon and George Dixon.
Predeceased by a brother, Preston Jewell. Elva is survived by her brother, Douglas (Barb) Jewell, and by sisters, Dorothy (Alton) Sentner, Lorraine (Chuck) Lund, Janet (Roger) Docherty and by sister-in-law, Thelma Jewell.
Elva will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Mom loved flowers, baking and listening to music. She was a marvel at knitting and crocheting - the more difficult the pattern the better. She had a great sense of humor and we have many happy memories of times spent at her home in what we kids called "the blue trailer" on the Jewell Road, especially those Christmas dinners.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Interment in Cornwall United Church Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.
