It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved sister and aunt, Margaret Arlene, at the age of 63 on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Arlene was born in Glace Bay, where she resided her entire life. She was a devoted fan of both Brenda Lee and Susan Hayward.
Arlene was the youngest child of the late Dennis and Elizabeth (Boone) Kelly.
She is survived by sisters, Cleo (Peter) Egan, with whom she resided for the past 22 years, and Ann Marie (Gordon) Boudreau; brothers, Edward ‘Ned’ (Anna), Dennis (Marie-deceased), Jude (Elaine), Bernie (Dot), John (Dorothy) and William (Mary). She is survived by a sister-in-law, Marie and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
She was predeceased by sisters, Mary (William) MacAulay, Pearl (Dan) MacDonald, Caroline and Elizabeth in infancy, and a brother, Jerome.
In honouring Arlene wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating. Reception will be held in the church hall.
