FILLMORE, ALTHEA ADA - Althea Ada Fillmore, 84, of Clairville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at The Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital on Thursday, December 18, 2014. Born in Clairville, she was the daughter of the late Rankin and Lena (Beers) Brown. Althea was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She enjoyed knitting, attending sporting events to cheer on her kids, going for a drive in the truck wherever Alf was going and spending precious time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Clairville and a member of the church Ladies Aid and a Life Member of the Beersville and Clairville Women’s Institute. Althea will be sadly missed by her husband of 64 years, Alfred “Alf” Fillmore; daughter, Connie Agnew (late Ross) of Child’s Creek; sons, Allan (Audrey) of Mundleville, Donald (Marie) and Daryl (Rose-Ella), both of Clairville and Neil (Nicole) of Dieppe; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Arnold Brown (Betty) of ON, Melbourne Brown (Peggy) of BC, Ralph Brown (Mavis) of NB, Warren Brown (Eleanor) of NS, Wallace Brown (Karen) of NS and Vaughn Brown (Donna) of NB; sisters-in-law, Pat Brown and Harriet Purdy, both of NB; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Darlene and three brothers, Hugh, Charles and Allison.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. Sandy Sutherland officiating. Refreshments in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Clairville. In Althea’s memory, donations to the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund or the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care) would be appreciated by the family.
