The death of Seymour Edward Ferguson age 89 of Amherst occurred Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Gables Lodge, Amherst, NS.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Seymour and Jennie (Ward) Ferguson.
Seymour had several jobs in Amherst during his lifetime and retired from Enamel Heating Steel Division after many years and during most of that time he served as Union President.
He is survived by his son Brian Ferguson (Diane) of Amherst, sister Shirley Ferguson (Ralph) of Amherst, grandchildren Michael, Darrell, Erin and Matthew, great grandson Simon and many nieces and nephews. Seymour is also survived by many step children, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Doris (LeBlanc) Gouthreau, his second wife Frances “Bunny” McBrien, his third wife Geneva “GG” Roberts, son Bruce, twin granddaughters in infancy, three sisters Maude, Jennie and Hazel and three brothers Fred, Ray and Reg.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 1 p.m. followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. all in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, (902-667-9906).
Rev. Jonathon Cole will officiate.
Interment will take place in the spring in the St. Charles – Nativity Cemetery, Amherst.
Memorial donations in Seymour’s memory may be made to the Cumberland VON or the L.A. Animal Shelter.
