Born in Hickman's Harbour, Random Island, Trinity Bay, NL on August 16, 1925, Vida Clara Belle Benson, passed away at the age of 89 at the Ina Graffton Gage Nursing Home in Toronto, ON on December 27th, 2014. Predeceased by her loving husband, Lloyd Benson (St. John's) and her brother, Heman Benson (Little Falls, NY). Leaving to mourn, daughter, Bonnie Benson (Pickering, ON); sisters: Lillian Benson Critch (Toronto, ON), and Gloria Benson Harris (Clarenville, NL); sisters-in-law: Doreen Benson (Mount Pearl, NL), Shirley Hughes (New Glasgow, NS), Florence Benson (Little Falls, NY); many very special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and best friend, Mary McDonald (St. John's, NL). Memorial service to be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015, at Richview United Church - 149 Wellesworth Drive, Etobicoke, ON M9C 4R8. Heartfelt gratitude to the Ina Graffton Gage staff for their dignified comfort, care and compassion, particularly throughout the palliative stage. A special thank you to the sincere kindness and attentiveness of support worker, Janet. A memorial service and interment of ashes will be officiated by Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, St. John's, NL in March, 2015 (details to be published at a later date).
