It is with deep sadness that we the family announce the passing of Hughie Francis Ryan in Victoria, British Columbia.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of Alice (Colbert) and the late Hughie Ryan.
He worked as a laborer for many years in the oil fields. He was also involved with the AA program and helped many people.
Hughie was a lover of the outdoors. He was a very friendly person and love to help others that were less fortunate than himself.
He is survived by his by mother Alice; sisters, Hughina, Judy (Ray), Sydney, Mary, Sydney, Debbie, Portage, Joy, New Waterford; brothers, Jimmy, Inverness, and John 'Buttons', New Waterford, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he is also predeceased by his sister Shauna and brother in-law Jimmy 'Bacon' MacPherson.
Cremation has taken place. Burial will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery at a later date in the family plot.
