Jeffrey Dale McCarthy, 50 of Windsor, passed away at the Halifax Infirmary, Q.E.II Halifax. Jeff left this world as he entered, surrounded by love, his family and friends. He went to be with his son, Patrick, on Monday, December 29, 2014, after a brave fight for life. Born on June 16, 1964, in Windsor, he was the son of Clary and Marina “Faye” (Benedict) McCarthy of Three Mile Plains. Jeff was a jack of all trades, but mostly a truck driver for various companies. Around home, Julie called him “half-assed Jeff”, because once he made something functional, he lost interest in making it pretty! Jeff and Julie enjoyed traveling together whether on their bike or on car drives. They also enjoyed bowling each Sunday together and was the group tormenter and jokester. Marina remembers everything her Dad taught her - one of the funniest was teaching her to drive big trucks and getting caught, ooops! Zach learned everything he knows about hunting from his Dad, but couldn’t persuade him to go fishing. Jeff thought fishing was boring, not enough action! He did everything he could to make life the best he could for his family. Jeff had a great passion for cooking. He would often get a recipe from Mom, put his adjustments in and then tell her his was better! He also loved his animals. He thought of them as his fur babies. Jeff was someone who could make you furious with teasing and in the next instant, make you laugh out loud with one of his crazy faces. All his nieces and nephews always looked for him during their concerts to make faces while they were on stage. They loved it, and so did he! He was our family clown and will be so desperately missed. Jeff was a husband, father, son, and brother that we are so grateful to have had in our lives. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Julia “Julie” Mae Frank; his children, Marina and Zachary, both at home; siblings, Tammy (Dale) Page, Centre Rawdon; Mark (Karen), Three Mile Plains; Donna (Floyd) Wile, Leminster; twins, Luke (Shannon), and Matt (Rhonda), Three Mile Plains; step- grandmother, Muriel Benedict, Dykeland Lodge, Windsor; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son, Patrick. In keeping with Jeff’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements were under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor funeral Home, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. A celebration of his life, was held from 2 until 4 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the Three Mile Plains Community Hall, 4474 Highway 1, Three Mile Plains. Donations in memory of Jeff, may be made to the family; Q.E.II Health Sciences Centre, Unit 5.1 Cardiovascular I.C.U. or a charity of one’s choice.
