Bernard Hoare

Hoare, Bernard Carence “Chink”, 82 of Stellarton, passed away Saturday January 3, 2015 at home.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late William Benvie and Mabel (Fogarty) Hoare.
Bernard was a resident of Stellarton for most of his life.
He served with the Canadian Forces, having been stationed in England and Germany, returning home in 1958 to marry the love of his life, Marion.
He worked at Michelin for a number of years, having retired due to ill health. He enjoyed working on cars and woodworking in his backyard garage.
He is survived by sons Bernie (Susan), Stellarton; Joe (Sherry), at home; grandchildren Margaret (Adam) MacBeth, Joe (Tara), Kelsey and Alyson, great-grandchildren Alex and Mia MacBeth; brothers Donnie (Kay) Hoare, Fraser’s Mountain; David (Sharon) Hoare, Abercrombie Road; sisters Joyce Campbell, New Glasgow; Marie, Riverton; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Marion, a grandson Bernie “Boo” Hoare, brothers Robert “Bob”, Dougie and William “Bumper”, brothers-in-law Donnie Shreenan, Bob Shreenan, sister-in-law Gloria Morrison.
Cremation to take place.
The family will receive visitors from 10-10:45am Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton from where a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am with Father Bill Rankin presiding. Burial of ashes will take place in the parish cemetery.
Family flowers only. Memorial donations in memory of Bernard may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Society or to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
