Grace Estabrooks

ESTABROOKS, GRACE - Peacefully, in her 103rd year, Grace Cunningham Estabrooks passed away at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, NB on Friday, January 2, 2015. Born in Point De Bute, NB in 1912 she was a daughter of the late Seward and Bessie (Wheaton) Babcock. She was a life member of the United Baptist Women's Missionary Society. Ice skating, gardening, travel, antiquing, and dining out were among her many pleasures. Grace loved animals, especially cats. She often remarked how blessed she was to have such a full, healthy and rewarding life filled with great friendships. She will be dearly missed by two sons, Glenn (Kathleen), Moncton and Dale, Sackville; three grandchildren, Bruce, Susan and Greig and four great-grandchildren, Alex, Andrew, Christopher and Victoria; brother-in-law Kenneth Estabrooks, Moncton; nieces and nephews, especially Margaret Gray who grew up with Grace. She was predeceased by her husband Leaman in 1976. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was also predeceased by half sister Vera Turner; sisters Del Styles, Lola Ward, and Gladys MacLennan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). In keeping with Grace's wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will take place at the Jones Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 2 pm, Rev. Vernon Vickruck officiating. Burial will take place at the Sackville Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the NBSPCA or the charity of your choice. Grace's family wishes to extend special thanks to all the people who have been so kind to their mom, especially in her later years.
