HOGG: Sharon Lee Hogg, age 61, of Swift Current passed away December 24, 2014 at Cypress Regional Hospital. The Memorial Service was held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 3, 2015 from First United Church with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. The soloist was Brady Frank. Life Tribute was presented by Gordon Frank. The Ushers were Deb Benjamin and Barry Zinn. Honorary Pallbearers were Sandy and Joyce Starkey, Murray and Carol Benjamin, Dwaye and Marjory Neufeld and Rick and Chris Harvey. Sharon is survived by her husband Neil Hogg; daughter Shannon Varner; son Tim (Michelle) Hogg granddaughter Natalie; brother Rick (Theresa) Blair; uncle Raymond Blair; numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend since childhood Janice (Mike) Peace. She was predeceased by her mother Margaret Noble; father Dale Blair and her sister Holly Wessel-Blair. Sharon was born January 12, 1953 in Prince Albert, Sk. She attended school on Prince Albert at Arthur Pechey School and graduated in 1971. She married Neil Hogg on December 29, 1979 at the First United Church in Swift Current. Sharon work for Dairy Producers for nineteen years and then at Myers Norris Penny for the following nineteen years. Sharon was active with Swift Current Minor Ball from 1998 until present; Saskatchewan Baseball Association from 2000 until present; Swift Current Minor Girls Softball from 1992 until 1998 and Saskatchewan Senior Men's Fastball as an umpire from 1972 until 1974. Sharon truly loved baseball. She also enjoyed sewing, playing cards, curling, volunteering for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and she loved her cats, Stubby, Mittens and Paedro. "House is not a home without cats". Growing up she also had a Golden Lab named Jock, who was a great play mate and a big furry baby sitter. Sharon passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Her life ended courageous and strong. In her memory, memorial donation may be made to Swift Current Minor Baseball. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
