St. John's, NL (Formerly of Deer Lake, NL). It is with deep sadness the family of Marion Vera Davis (Loder) announce her death in her 94th year on January 2nd, 2015, at the Agnes Pratt Home, St. John's. Marion was predeceased in 2000 by husband Edward Raymond Davis, CN conductor and yardmaster of Port-aux-Basques. The daughter of Rev. Silas Loder and Elizabeth (King), Marion worked enthusiastically to advance school, church and community. Although Marion began her studies in nursing she enjoyed a long teaching career. Left with cherished memories are grandchildren, Dr. John (Michelle) and James (Sarah) Moores; Richard (Stephanie) and Ashley Butt and great grandson, Brody Charles Butt; Sister-in-law Anne Odland of Alberta; Nieces, Debbie Loder, St. John's and Beverley (Patrick) Murray, Gander; Nephews, Keith (Elizabeth) and Clive (Marged) Lewis of Great Britain as well as many Davis nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia, Maine, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Agnes Pratt Home for their outstanding care. Marion's always pleasant smile and easy-going nature will be greatly missed by daughters, Elaine (John) Moores and Elizabeth (Hughie) Butt. A memorial service will take place at Cochrane Street United Church, St.John's at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 11th, 2015. Committal will follow at a later date in Deer Lake. Donations in Marion's memory may be made to Cochrane Street United Church, St. John's, or St. Paul's United Church, Deer Lake.
