SIMONSON, CLAYTON I. - It is with sad hearts that the family of Clayton Irvine Simonson announce his passing at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the age of 85. Clayton was born in Dorinlee, Alberta, a son of the late Olie and Margaret Anne (Murfitt) Simonson. Clayton was affiliated with the P.A.O.C. and most recently attended Evangel Pentecostal Assembly in Fredericton. Clayton served with the R.C.A.F. as an Air Frame – Aeroengine Technician and retired as Senior Supervisor with Quality Assurance. Clayton, affectionately known as “Papa” to his family, is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Margaret A. (MacKenzie) Simonson of Fredericton; a much loved daughter, Karen Simonson of Fredericton and a son Guy Simonson of Toronto. He loved and adored his granddaughter, Krystal Taylor of Fredericton and great-grandchildren, Bethany of Moncton and Mya, Dylan and Jayda all of Fredericton. Clayton is also survived by a sister, Joyce Beam and a brother, Ross Simonson both of Alberta; nieces and nephews.
Although there will be no visitation hours held at the funeral home, the family invite relatives and friends to join them at a service celebrating the life of Clayton Simonson on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM from Evangel Pentecostal Assembly, 705 Maple Street, Fredericton. Pastor Duane Collicott will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date. Contributions to Pine Grove Foundation in memory of Clayton would be greatly appreciated by the family.
