Gordon Clyde Doughart
On December 31, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer, Gordon Doughart of Sydney, N.S., passed away surrounded by his family at An Cala Pallative Care, Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Gordon, age 37, leaves behind his wife of 13 years, Theresa (nee MacPhee); children, Carson (12) and Caitlyn (10); parents, George and Kathryn Doughart of Vernon River, P.E.I.; sister, Allison Doughart (Kelly Campbell) of Kinross, P.E.I.; father and mother-in-law, Greg and Margie MacPhee of Island View, N.S.; sister-in-law, Nicole MacPhee of Sydney, N.S.; special nephews, Sam MacPhee and Mason Doughart; and faithful godson, Nolan MacDonald.
Gordon was a talented Red Seal chef with a great sense of humour. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family and friends. In addition to his dedication to his family and his solid work ethic, Gordon will be remembered for the tireless work he did to raise awareness of issues related to funding of medication for cancer patients in Nova Scotia.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel from where the service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. Visiting hours on Wednesday, January 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
If so desired, memorials may be made to the trust fund for Gordon's two children.
