It is with deep regret and heavy hearts that the family of Michael G. Flynn "Gerry" announce his passing on Tuesday, January 6th, 2015. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, at the age of 86. Predeceased by his wife Bernice, parents Mike and Mae Flynn, sisters Beth Condie and Marge Barron; brothers-in-law Ted, Gerry, Jim and Larry Hollahan. Left to celebrate his life are his children Michael (Karen), René (Nyanna), and Katrina (Danny) with whom he lived; loving partner Carol Murphy and her children Laura, Elise and Shane; grandchildren Nicholas and Stephen Flynn, Nickoli and Nathan Parcher, cherished granddaughter Nicole Flynn-Vinnicombe, Danielle and James Tobin; also left to celebrate his memory are his sisters Patricia Bruce(Les - deceased), Dorene Brown (Ron - deceased); sisters-in-laws Patricia Burgert (Ted - deceased), Dolly Largent(Bill - deceased), Kay (Al) Schneeberg, and Sheila Carew (Doug - deceased); The Bruce and Tobin families whose care and friendship over the years meant so much to Gerry. Gerry enjoyed a very successful career with Marine Atlantic. In his retirement he spent many happy days with his golf buddies, friends from the R.C.A.F Club and the K of C; as well as many other relatives and friends. He will be remember for his sense of humour, storytelling and generosity. Special thanks to Dr. Doug Angel and the nursing staff of St. Clare's 4 East. At Gerry's request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4p.m and 7-9p.m at Cauls Funeral Home, Lemarchant Road. Funeral mass will take place on Monday, January 12th, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Teresa's Church. Inurnment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice.
